Couples Therapy
It has probably never been all that easy to become a successful couple, two people who always enjoy being and growing together. But given the pressures and stresses of our contemporary world, it is not unusual for a couple to encounter speed bumps, pot holes and detours along the way or to harbor resentment about parts of the journey together.
At Center for Therapeutic Change, we work with couples to understand and correct the problems that partners sometimes experience communicating with each other. We help couples learn how to work together to resolve their own problems by communicating with each other. Our providers never act as judge and jury or assign blame to one or the other partner.

Group Therapy
So many people complain that their connections to others feel shallow and disappointing, or that they have trouble making or sustaining relationships. Well, if you want help developing and maintaining more satisfying relationships with others — spouses, co-workers, friends, and family members — group therapy is a great way to accomplish this goal.
Group members talk about their thoughts and feelings with the other members. Soon, patterns of behavior and interaction begin to emerge that echo similar situations in their lives outside group. With the help of the skilled and experienced group facilitator, group members learn more about what gets in the way of relating more openly and honestly. Group therapy offers an opportunity to work through these issues in a safe and supportive environment and to make real progress in daily life.

Child & Adolescent Therapy
Parent-Child issues arise as a natural part of the growth or maturation process. All along the timeline of childhood to adulthood, struggles and challenges may emerge between children and their parents. The professionals at Center for Therapeutic Change work with families on a variety of issues such as a child who has difficulty assimilating in school, rebellious behavior, alienation in the home or at school, mental health concerns, substance abuse or other risky behaviors, parental divorce or separation, family illness or other family stressors.
We are focused on the goal of capitalizing on your family’s assets and resources to restore balance and optimal performance in your home and other environments.

Family Therapy
Families are diverse and complex systems that sometimes operate at a less than optimal level. Challenges in the family include addiction and mental health, divorce or separation, problems in the parent-child interaction, or other behavioral issues.
Families are guided to identify the assets and resources already present in the home and to amplify the strengths and reduce and eventually eliminate maladaptive patterns of behavior. We will work with your family to gain a new perspective using therapeutic interventions and strategies that are tailored to match the learning and emotive styles of each family member. Once the family understands the patterns, we introduce concrete, practical and effective strategies for everyday use.
