James Amarante is a behavioral health professional with a diverse yet integrated skillset. As a psychotherapist, James uses his extensive training in trauma-informed, harm reduction, relational psychoanalytic, and evidence-based approaches to help clients heal, grow and accept the sometimes frustrating pace or limitations of change.
As a director and adjunct professor, James is committed to empowering people and fostering curiosity, employing principles of non-hierarchical leadership and mutuality to drive personal and professional growth. James is committed to integrating the principles of social justice throughout his many roles and believes that doing so is dependent upon leveraging the power of curiosity and mutuality across relationships.
